Project Description:

The trail feasibility study was conducted to develop an overall master plan for a trail system for a Borough owned tract on Irondale Mountain. The study area included existing trail segments along the historic Morris Canal as well as a network of abandoned historic mining roads and forest trails. The master plan creates an overall network of trails of various lengths, for users of a variety of abilities, as well as connection to several Borough neighborhoods.

The study was used as a basis for a trail construction grant and was approved by NJDEP Green Acres as an appropriate use for the property which was purchased with Green Acre funds.
